A pair of men from Staten Island, NY have been arrested in connection with at least eleven motor vehicle burglaries in the Durham Avenue area of South Plainfield during the morning of August 26th, 2020.

The burglaries were reported to the police after residents woke up to find that their unlocked vehicles had been rummaged through and ransacked.  Most of the reported vehicle burglaries occurred on the side streets in the vicinity of Durham Avenue and Route 287.

South Plainfield Police retrieved video surveillance footage from residents which assisted in providing a description of the suspect(s) who were then eventually tracked by the fraudulent use of the victims’ credit cards.  One of the suspect(s) was located at the Wood Spring Suites hotel in South Plainfield.   During the criminal investigation, South Plainfield Detectives discovered additional credit cards suspected of also being stolen in South Plainfield and other towns throughout the State of New Jersey.
