SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – South Plainfield forward Jacob Villacres had a goal and an assist to help rally the South Plainfield Tigers to a 2-1 victory over Perth Amboy. Villacres’ goal was assisted by Nick Polizzano. Richard Marcovecchio scored South Plainfield’s other goal.

“We missed some easy chances in the beginning, and they scored and played that first half with a lot of emotion,” said South Plainfield Head Coach Anthony Perfilio. “At half we discussed the need to finish and put shots on goal, and we did that and ultimately got the goals we were looking for.”

Perfilio was right. The Tigers got the goals they needed in the second half to win their fourth game in a row and improve their record to 7-1 on the season. South Plainfield is currently ranked #1 in power points in the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2 Group #3 rankings.

South Plainfield goalie Nick Plate received the winning turning away six Perth Amboy shots on goal. South Plainfield next plays September 29th home versus JFK of Iselin.
