NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Vito Nigro stood before Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Dennis Nieves and pleaded not guilty to the charges related to the brutal murder of his ex-wife Giorgina Cimino Nigro. The not guilty plea was entered by Nigro’s attorney Howard Barman.
Giorgina Cimino Nigro was brutally murdered six months ago in her home in what police believe was a murder and botched suicide attempt by Vito Nigro. Both Giorgina Cimino Nigro and Vito Nigro were popular hairdressers at the European Hair Designs located in the Oak Park Commons Mall in South Plainfield. The grisly murder, which took place in Colonia, left Giorgina’s clients and residents throughout South Plainfield stunned. Giorgina’s family and friends allege she was the victim of widespread domestic violence. At her funeral countless members of her family and friends showed up in respect, love and solidarity against domestic violence.
An autopsy performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Ms. Nigro died from blunt force and sharp force trauma and that she was the victim of a homicide.
After allegedly murdering his ex-wife Vito Nigo jumped off an overpass landing on the Garden State Parkway in an apparent botched suicide attempt. Nigro suffered a number of broken bones in the jump which took place in the Metropark section of Iselin. Vito Nigro is still being held on $750,000 bail.
