New Church Cross Dedication at Wesley United Methodist Church
On Sunday, March 18, Dr. Kim performed a dedication in our Fellowship Hall of our new beautiful stained glass cross. This cross was made from the glass chips from our former sanctuary windows that were replaced in the Spring of 2016 and it preserves a piece of our church history. The original stained glass windows were in the sanctuary for over 50 years. So now, part of the window glass may remain within our church.
These window panes witnessed many church history events consisting of weddings and baptisms, the installation and farewell services for our beloved pastors, the welcoming of new members and confirmation classes into our congregation. They observed the music, the singing of choirs, the worship of God, and the caring of our families. The windows witnessed our sorrows of our loved ones passing, and the hope and promise made by the Lord Jesus, spending eternity with the Him.
This Cross was a gift of love and a special thank you to Debbie Apgar who inspired this vision and Lora and Bill McLean, the artists who created it. The plaque next to the cross reads: “This Cross was Created out of the Original Stained Glass Windows of Wesley Church by Lora and Bill McLean inspired by Debbie Apgar, 2018”
We invite the community to come worship with us on a Sunday, see our beautiful cross and enjoy coffee hour in our Fellowship Hall.
