WESTFIELD, NJ — On the last night of Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival 2016, to be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 7 p.m. to p.m., Quimby Street will be closed to traffic beginning at about 4 p.m. to make way for special activities, including live music, a balloon artist, chalk drawing and giant games of checkers, tic tac toe, Connect Four and Anagram Cubes, according to the Downtown Westfield Corpration, which sponsors the free festival.
Several downtown businesses will have tables on Quimby, and restaurants may have additional outdoor seating available on the street, according to the DWC.
Watson, the band originally booked for the North Avenue train station, will be relocated that evening to Quimby Street and, with an extra sound system installed, the music will be heard on Elm Street, as well.
In the event of rain, the evening's festivites will be rescheduled for Aug. 31.
