SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Over 100 people sampled wine, liquor, and craft beers on Friday night at a benefit tasting for the Venitelli family.
Oak Tree Discount Wine and Liquors and the Boyle Memorial Foundation sponsored the event, which took place at the Italian-American Club on Garibaldi Avenue.
In addition to the tasting, guests were able to take part in a trick-tray auction that night, with the winners being drawn on Saturday.
Event organizers included Debbie Boyle, Jen Ratti, Barbara Cochrane, and Jul McCormick-Anesh.
Joseph Venitelli, Sr. died earlier this year while waiting for a heart transplant. He was 52 years old and left behind a wife and two young children. Proceeds from the event go to the family to help defray medical bills and other costs.
