Dear Editor,
Our lives were turned upside down when our son, Connor was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer, three years ago. He was only 11 years old. The prognosis was not great and his oncologist in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York told us to expect a lengthy treatment plan.  However, during this period, we were blessed to have received housing and support from Ronald McDonald House (RMH) New York.

I remember even though Connor was very sick and weak, he always looked forward to going to RMH.  Little but precious things like snuggle in his bed or spend time in the game room with friends, RMH allowed him to be a normal kid.

RMH not only offers families with a home to returned to after long days at the hospital, it also provides families with resources and support.  Their goal is to offer families a home away from home that is close to the hospital.
