To the voters of South Plainfield

My name is Bill Seesselberg and I am running for the Board of Education, listed on the ballot on column G.

While I was previously on the board, I worked with the other members that were willing to work with me to make our schools better and provide opportunities for our students and support our teaching staff with resources that were available.

There is no entitlement to a seat on the board, or appointment to any of the board committees. Each member brings personal strengths to the board. The board president is responsible for the committee appointments each year.  When I was president I created a committee structure that in my opinion utilized the individual talents and skills of the members, while also taking into account other factors that would make each committee productive.  I have no doubt the committees I formed worked well, and I look forward for the chance to serve as a viable board member on any committee the president feels I can contribute to.

While it sounds productive to have conversations with congressmen, members of the state assembly or senate, our county superintendent,  county prosecutors and other officials, if you can’t even have conversations with your board president and other board members, you should not have a seat on the local board.

Please take the time while voting to look for the Board of Education candidates. They are located at the bottom of the ballot.  I hope that you will consider me for the board and cast your vote for me (column G) and two other worthy candidates.

Thank you.
