Dear Editor,

On January 5th the Borough held its annual reorganization meeting. The meeting which includes some pomp and ceremony sets the course for the upcoming year. In the Mayor’s State of the Borough, Mayor Anesh discuss the accomplishments of the past, but more importantly discusses the future ahead.

At the reorganization meeting one of the first items of business is to select a Council President. This year, my colleagues on Council, put their trust and faith in me to be Council President. I want to thank each one of them for their support, but more importantly thank the thousands of residents who voted for me in the past election. I will always keep you foremost in my mind when making decisions that affect South Plainfield.

To the large number of volunteers that came out and applied to be on committees and commissions I want to say thank you. Volunteerism is what makes South Plainfield the wonderful place we call home. There is much that needs to be done in the days and weeks ahead, but working together I know we can accomplish as much in 2019 as we did in 2018. May everyone have a healthy and happy 2019.

Sincerely,

Joseph Wolak

Council President
