Dear Editor -
“Hey Dad, today in school the police officer played volleyball with us, it was fun.”
“My son came home from school today and told me that the police officer played football with them at recess”.
“I heard that one of the police officers sat down and ate lunch in the cafeteria with the children today. They loved it”
These are just a few of the statements that we have heard people say over the past week or so since police started working in the schools for additional safety.
Our family would like to personally thank all of the police officers who are taking shifts in the schools while the safety procedures are reviewed and updated.
We would like to further thank them for interacting in such positive ways with the children to reinforce that the police are our friends and here to help us.
Thank you for working these shifts at greatly reduced pay.
Thanks for being you.
