Crop Walk

By GINA BIRATH

October 5, 2013 at 2:00 AM

The annual South Plainfield CROP Walk for World Hunger will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2013.  Walkers will “step off” at 2:00 p.m. from Wesley United Methodist Church, 1500 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield.  Registration for walkers will be at 1:30 p.m. at Wesley.

The South Plainfield CROP Walk for World Hunger is a community-wide event sponsored by Church World Service and organized by South Plainfield Ecumenical Council of Christian Churches to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.  Last year’s CROP Walk for Hunger assisted many in New Jersey, helping communities ravaged by Hurricane Sandy to recover.   A percentage of what is raised in South Plainfield comes back to our community to benefit programs in South Plainfield.

Please mark your calendars and join us, whether as a walker or sponsor.  Together -- with your family, group, or congregation -- we can change the world, one step at a time.

For further details or to participate in this year’s walk, call 908-723-2566 or e-mail to ginabirath@aol.com.
