UNICO District X Governor Anthony Bengivenga and Plainfields' UNICO President Bob Bengivenga recently spoke with South Plainfield High School students from the Italian language class on the importance of speaking and learning Italian, UNICO scholarships and the acts of charity that UNICO does. 
 For the past three years Anthony Bengivenga and the Plainfields' Chapter of UNICO have sponsored a student exchange program with host families in South Plainfield and the Bergamo province of Italy. Italian language teacher Stephanie White (center of photo) has also beein instrumental in coordinating this program. Also in this photo are last years South Plainfield High School participating seniors Alissa Palmeri (left) next to chapter president Bob Bengivenga and Brielle Stankan (right) next to Anthony Bengivenga. Their families generously also hosted Italian students last year.  

UNICO National offers scholarships not only for Italian studies but also for nursing, fine arts, medicine, literature, engineering, science, special education.  UNICO also give grants to local food banks for those less fortunate and donates over $50,000 each year for cancer research. UNICO is an IRS 501c3 charity organization.
