The Smart Cushion Innovations Crash Cushion (Model SCI100GM) is creating a stir in the traffic safety industry. The SCI100GM is revolutionary as it is the only one of its kind: a speed dependent crash cushion that adjusts it’s stopping force based on the speed and weight of the crashing vehicle, and does not reach maximum stopping force unless the colliding vehicle is traveling at the maximum design speed.

Recent testing has shown the Smart Cushion Innovations Crash Cushion SCI100GM to be 50% stronger than current designs and was engineered for reuse, durability, and the highest level of safety.

Both the SCI100GM and SCI70GM models of the Crash Cushion Impact Actuators have been an important addition to Traffic Safety Service’s extensive safety equipment inventory.

“The Smart Cushion manufactured by SCI Products is an incredible product,” said Michael Pecoraro, Chief Operating Officer at Traffic Safety Service. The Smart Cushion has the innate ability to gauge the speed and weight as well as mass of a vehicle during impact to apply the stopping force needed to safely stop the vehicle reducing G-Force on the occupants. Having the SCI Smart Cushion in our product line reinforces Traffic Safety Services slogan. We supply quality products, at competitive prices with unparalleled service. The SCI100GM is the only reusable ground mount attenuator on the market. When the SCI100GM gets impacted, the passengers will have a greater chance to walk away from the hit and that is our utmost concern. The cost to reset and repair the unit will be a fraction of the cost compared to other GM's on the market.”

Visit Traffic Safety Service's website to view the complete details of the form and function of the Crash Cushion.
