On Friday, April 20th, 2018, a South Plainfield resident responded to South Plainfield Police Department to report a fraudulent incident which occurred at Plainfield Animal Hospital, located at 2201 Park Ave, South Plainfield, NJ.  According to the victim, on April 4th, 2018, she and her husband brought their   family pet rabbit to the animal hospital to be euthanized due to the animal’s advanced age and deteriorating health.  They were charged $175.00 by the hospital to euthanize the animal and send it to The Regency Family Pet Crematory for its final resting place.

Weeks later, the family learned that the pet rabbit was not euthanized but instead adopted by a worker from the animal hospital with approval from the hospital manager, Kurt Roman.  Even though the pet rabbit was never euthanized or sent to the pet crematory, the family was still charged the $175.00 and never notified or refunded the payment.

After an investigation by the South Plainfield Police Department, complaints were signed by the victim against Roman for Theft by Deception.  The State Veterinary Board was notified.
