(Edison) – Assemblyman Robert Karabinchak will be hosting a District Pet Contest for all residents of the 18th Legislative District on the eve of the Super Pet Exposition in Edison and “Meet the Breeds” Competition hosted by the American Kennel Club this weekend. Residents are encouraged to send a picture of their favorite pet, name, hometown, and fun fact to the Assemblyman’s Facebook page before Sunday February 10th.
“We are fortunate to have wonderful events throughout our District just like this weekend’s Expo which highlight the pets that bring joy to our community. For the past few years, I’ve been selected as an Honorary Chair of the Meet the Breeds competition and I stand by their mission of responsible pet stewardship and protecting animal welfare.”
The Super Pet Expo will be held this weekend from Friday to Sunday at the NJ Convention & Exposition Center and feature over 2,000 pets as well as 150 local and national exhibitors. Additionally, experts will be on hand to discuss pet training, nutrition, and health techniques for pets.
The 10th Annual Meet the Breeds event gives dog and cat lovers the unique opportunity to meet and play with more than 100 different breeds in booths individually decorated to depict each breed’s country of origin, historical purpose/function, and attributes as a family pet. Attendees also get the chance to see the nation’s top canine athletes compete in an agility course
