SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - August 30th was a special day for the Senior Center, approximately 130 seniors gathered to have their annual picnic. The picnic was catered my Elmers and the Seniors enjoyed hot dogs, burgers, sausage and peppers, meatballs, fries and onion rings. There was also fried chicken, corn on the cobb and watermelon on the menu.
“Elmer’s Catering did an amazing job, as usual,” said Senior Director, Tree Olano. “There was plenty of food for all!”
Many of the attendees still had room for dessert, which consisted of cakes, pies, pastries and Mare Bear cookies. DJ Mel was on hand and “the group danced the afternoon away,” said Olano.
There were several students volunteers on hand to help assist the seniors carry their food, clear their plates, assist with drinks, coffee and dessert. “We had a special day,” said Olano. “I would like to thank all who assisted and volunteered to make the senior picnic a smashing success.”
The volunteers were Madison DePaoli, Matthew Ciullo, Kayla Brown, Yvette Boguszewski, Madison Geis, Anthony Nigro, Julia Parker, Michael Kurilew, Cameron Both and Jacob Both.
