SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The South Plainfield Elks Lodge 2298 has awarded the Gerry Fantazir & Rose Napoliello Memorial Scholarships worth $2500 each to two worthy recipients who will graduate from high school in 2020 and attend an institute of higher learning in the fall. 

Senior Lauren Alexis Calvey of South Plainfield High School is the daughter of John and Janine Calvey.  Throughout Lauren’s high school years, she was involved in field hockey as well as Spring and Winter Track Girls Varsity where she excelled at the high jump.  She is described as a well-rounded student athlete, possessing key traits of enthusiasm, determination and dedication.  Lauren will be pursuing a career in criminal law at Middlesex County College.

Senior Dominic Faustini of South Plainfield High School is the son of Lou and Councilwoman Christine Faustini.  Dominic was involved in the Varsity Swim Team, Varsity Football, Spring Track, Passionately Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness and Random Acts of Kindness, just to name a few.  He is described as a teammate coaches hope for.  In addition to his dedication to school work and extra-curricular activities, he holds a part-time job and volunteers at many fundraisers.  Dominic will be pursuing his Masters Degree in Business Administration at Seton Hall University.
