Come join us at the library for Monday Night Movies!  On December 18 at 6:30 PM, we will be showing a new romantic comedy starring Reese Witherspoon, Michael Sheen, Candice Bergen, and Nat Wolff.  Witherspoon plays a single mother who allows three young men to move into her house; let the antics ensue.   If you cannot make it to our Monday night showing, it will also be shown on Wednesday, December 20 at 12:30 PM.  The movie is rated PG-13. 

On Sunday, December 17 at 2:30 PM, Ms. Jailene will be presenting a Bilingual Storytime for ages 2 to 6.  Come enjoy stories, rhymes, and songs in both Spanish and English.  There will be another Bilingual Storytime on Monday, December 18 at 1:30 PM; this one is presented in Mandarin Chinese and English.  Additionally, on Tuesday, December 19 at 3:30 PM, please stop by to Learn Hindi with Ms. Seema. 

Join Ms. Jackie on Wednesday, December 20 at 3:30 PM for Tabletop Gaming.  Get back to basics with an afternoon of tabletop gaming! Card games, strategy, dice, role-playing, board - it's your choice!  This program is intended for individuals 10 and older.

Pizza & Pages: Young Adult Book Club will be meeting on Thursday, December 21 at 7 PM to discuss the selection Enchanted by Alethea Kontis while enjoying some pizza.  Copies are available at the adult reference desk.  This book club is intended for 7th graders and up, but books can be chosen that are appropriate for 5th and 6th graders as well.  If you have any questions, please call us at (908) 754-7885 ext 4 to speak to Ms. Audrey. 

We will be having our regular storytime schedule for the week of December 18 to December 23.  There are storytimes for 2’s & 3’s Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 AM, storytimes for 3 and older Tuesday at 10:30 AM, Wednesday at 6:30 PM, and Thursday at 1:15 PM, Babytimes for babies under 2 years old on Friday at 10:15 AM and 11:15 AM, and Family Storytime on Saturday at 10:30 AM for all ages.  On Monday at 3 PM, there is a Lego Builder’s Club, and on Tuesday there is a Puzzles and Games program at 11:30 AM for children 3 and older (right after storytime!).  Meditation and Mindfulness with Ms. Aimee meets on Wednesday at 7:45 PM; it is for children 7-12 years old.  There is also Chess Club at 11:30 AM on Saturday for ages 6 and up and all ability levels.

Regular children’s programming will be canceled the week of December 25.  Instead, Friday, December 22 kicks off our week of fun-filled activities for your children and tweens during winter break.  Check the calendar for all the various events we have planned!  At 2 PM on Friday, December 22, we will be showing a holiday movie and serving various snacks.  On Tuesday, December 26 at 10:30 AM, there will be Toddler Toy Time, which is an extension of the Puzzles & Games we normally have on that day; we will also have an afternoon screening of a newer children’s movie involving emojis at 3 PM and serving popcorn.  On Wednesday, December 27, join Gru and the minions in their newest release at 10:30 AM, along with a joint Minute to Win It/Life Size Board Games at 2:30 PM for ages 9 and up.  Thursday, December 28 has several activities: a morning movie with Lightning McQueen is at 10:30 AM, Lego Builder’s Club is at 3 PM, and at 6:30 PM we will be showing the newest LEGO movie and making hot chocolate (for ages 9 and up).  On Friday, December 29, we will be showing our final movie, which is based on a book series by Dav Pilkey, at 11 AM and having a Holiday Game Challenge for ages 9 and up at 3 PM.  Finally, on Saturday, December 30 from 11 AM – 12 PM, join us for a Countdown to “Noon” Year’s Eve.  For ages 4 and up, we will be having different crafts (noisemakers and countdown clocks) as we countdown to the new year with those who are not usually able to stay up until midnight.    

We will be closed Sunday, December 24 and Monday, December 25 in observance of Christmas, as well as Sunday, December 31 and Monday, January 1 in observance of New Year’s.
