The South Plainfield Football team won its home opener Friday night against Spotswood.  The Tigers were impressive in not letting up any points in their 13-0 win.  South Plainfield was led by senior Dondre Tate.  Dondre is trying to improve on last season.  He started the 2018 year with 8 rushes for 45 yards. He was also a leader on defense, making 6 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and three pass break ups.

Last year, South Plainfield only finished 4-6.  However, with  senior leadership like Dondre Tate the Tigers will look to get back to the State Championships like they did two years ago.  South Plainfield is in action this Friday night against Saint Joseph’s at Jost Field.
