The South Plainfield Girls’ Track Team returns a core of starters that won the Blue Division last season.   The Lady Tigers are excited to once again vie for the top of the division.  This past week saw South Plainfield compete at  Spotswood, Metuchen, and Matawan.  One newcomer, freshman, Isabella Mont seems to have adjusted well to the high school competition.

In Isabella's first three track meets she has earned a total of seven medals while competing against some of the largest and most talented teams in the area.  Isabella ran a 1:05 in the 400 meter dash at the Metuchen Frosh/Soph meet on April 4th and earned a medal.  Isabella also placed in the freshman 100 meter dash and freshman Long Jump.  The next day Isabella sprinted in the Varsity 4x100 meter relay at the Raritan Rocket Relays with Samantha Pullen, Melissa Calderon and Hailey Palmer and earned a bronze running against some of the states best track schools. Then on Saturday, Isabella joined up with sophomores Hailey Palmer and Sophia Watson as well as junior Julianne Ferraro to take Gold at the Matawan Husky Relays in the 4x400 meter relay.  Isabella is off to a wonderful start in her freshman track season and hopes to help the team repeat as Blue Division Champions.
