The South Plainfield Girls’ Basketball team had a terrific week.  This past week the Lady Tigers won all three games they played. On Tuesday, South Plainfield defeated Colonia by a score of 52-39.  Next, on Thursday they beat New Brunswick 42-14.  Then in their last divisional game of the week on Saturday morning, the Lady Tigers controlled the Barrons of Woodbridge 45-32.  This brought South Plainfield to 5-4 on the season.  A lot of this success has been due to the play of freshman Sara McNelly.

This past week Sara averaged 8.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3 steals per game.  Sara has been a key factor in the Lady Tigers undefeated week.  In the win against Colonia she scored 12 points and had 7 rebounds.  Against New Brunswick, Sara had 2 points and 2 rebounds.  Then against Woodbridge she had another 12 points and 8 rebounds. The Lady Tigers are starting to play well as a team and look to Sara McNelly to help lead them.
