South Plainfield High School Girls’ Tennis Team is having a very successful season. The team is currently 6-2 on the year. Junior, Olivia Olano and senior, Cameron Marks, has have been instrumental to the Lady Tigers success this year.
Cameron Marks and Olivia Olano play first doubles for the South Plainfield Girls’ Tennis Team. They are both returning starters from last season and have been a huge driving force for the program. Their net play on the court is exceptional. At the GMC tennis tournament, Cameron and Olivia shined on the court. In the preliminary round, they played Spotswood, winning in a pro set, 8-1. In the next round, they played division leaders, North Brunswick. Cameron and Olivia defeated their rivals in two sets, winning by a score of 6-4 in the first set and winning the second set in a tie breaker 7-6 (tie breaker score 7-1). This win allowed them to move on to the next round in GMCs. South Plainfield will look for Olivia and Cameron’s leadership as they head into the NJSIAA State Team Tournament in the upcoming weeks.
