Friends of the Library Book and Bake Sale

You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy fantastic books at great prices at the Friends of the Library Book Sale, and that’s kind of the same thing. The Friends of the South Plainfield Library are their yearly book sale Saturday September 22 at 9am and going through Sunday September 30. This year’s donations include an exciting assortment of literary bargains.  There will be something for everyone, from book club enthusiasts to book groupies to children of all ages.  The Friends will also be selling AV materials (DVDs, CDs, Books on CD). There will be a bake sale on the first day so you can buy a sweet treat to go along with your great finds! All proceeds will go to the Friends who help the library with programming and also sponsor our very popular museum pass program.

The South Plainfield Field Hockey Team is once again having a very competitive season.  The Lady tigers are currently 7-3 on the season.  During this past week, South Plainfield went 3-0 winning twice over GMC rival East Brunswick and defeating Piscataway 1-0.   Much of their success is due to the play of senior captain Lynda Farinella.

After reading both of the candidate’s articles in the Observer last week, I notice something very wrong. First on the Republican side, they talked about our municipal taxes being flat the last 2 years and that S&P Global affirmed the borough’s “AA” rating and last year named South Plainfield as one of the best tax bargains in the state.
