Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Assembly

Operation Christmas Child Service Project is underway at Willow Grove Church!
Help make Christmas special for a child this Christmas.
Willow Grove Church is inviting children, youth and all adults to donate items listed below.  This ministry of Samaritan’s Purse delivers millions of gift-filled shoe boxes around the world to boys and girls who are suffering because of war, natural disaster, poverty, illness, or neglect. 
We invite you to join us for 10 am worship service on November 24. Following at about 11:30 am please join us to assemble items into shoeboxes. The shoeboxes will be taken to a local Operation Christmas Child collection center (Evangel Church) where they will be shipped to children in the United States and around the world.

Worship services on Sunday mornings begin at 10am and includes worship, Sunday School for all ages, and a special children's music instruction time. Willow Grove Church is located at 1961 Raritan Road in Scotch Plains, just down from the south side firehouse and soccer field. All facilities are handicap accessible and there is ample on-site parking.

Please place donated items in the box in the narthex/entry to sanctuary.
For children ages 5—9
Each box has to have a:
bar of soap (dove or ivory)
pencil sharpener 
wash cloth
spiral notebook
Then any of the other items on the list can be added to the box.
There will be a few adults helping the children assemble the boxes.

Small toys only please! Small cars, balls, very small stuffed  animals, kazoos,  harmonicas, small flutes and recorders, toy jewelry, yoyo's, coloring books, stickers, small puzzles, watercolor paint sets, finger puppets, building blocks,  Playdough, Slinky, etc.

pencil sharpeners, pencil cases, pens, pencils, glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils or markers, stamps and ink pads, writing pads, spiral notebooks, solar calculators, small board books, stickers

toothbrushes, mild bar soap (in a plastic bag), combs, hair brushes, fingernail brushes, wash cloths, small hand towels, bandaids.
No toothpaste.

t-shirts, socks, small balls, sunglasses, hair clips, hair ties, barrettes, soft elastic headbands, etc. watches, small plastic cup or mug, small purses, small tote bags, bracelets, small flashlights (with extra batteries).
No candy.

Niece Sandy Romasz and Nephew Robert Middleton lay wreath on the memorial marker of their uncle,  Henry Case. Lost at sea USS Grayback in 1944.  Niece Lisa Avellan was also present.  The USS Grayback was sunk in 1944 and recently discovered off Japan.
