SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The South Plainfield Public Library is gearing up for its 4th Annual Fall Festival. Scheduled to take place on Saturday, Oct. 19, the event will feature family-friendly fun for the whole family.
“The Fall Festival is one our favorite programs of the year and something our parents and children as well as our staff look forward to each fall,” said Linda Hansen, the library’s director. “It’s a fun, family-friendly event for all ages.”
This year’s Fall Festival will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking next to Willow Park. A special guest reader will kick of the event with a Scarecrow Storytime at 10 a.m. and Green Meadows Farm will be on hand with a petting zoo from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Throughout the day, there will also be special fall-themed crafts and games as well as photo ops, contests and prizes, free doughnuts and cider, and temporary tattoos. Additionally, pumpkin painting will take place; attendees are encouraged to bring their own pumpkins with the library providing the paint, ribbons, buttons and other supplies necessary.
“It’s great to see how excited the kids get waiting for our special storytime guest and the different, colorful pumpkins they create,” said Hansen. “We hope residents will once again come out and take part in the fall-themed festivities we have planned.”
