SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ- As one of the newest additions to South Plainfield’s downtown area, Cosmo 21 Beauty Salon & Spa celebrated its grand opening on Saturday morning February 4th. Cosmo 21, located at 24 South Plainfield Avenue, is a he full service salon for both men and women of all ages. According to owner, Revathy Baskar Rao, Cosmo’s name stems from the idea that customers will feel the youthful age of 21 again after they are finished.
Mayor Matthew P. Anesh attended the ribbon cutting ceremony along with Council President Derryck C. White and Council members Robert Bengivenga, Christine Faustini, Jon Dean, Joseph C. Wolak and Business Administrator Glenn Cullen.
Cosmo 21’s beauty services include threading, waxing, facials, make-up and Henna, bleach, masks, and pedicure & manicures. Hair services are for kids, women, men & seniors. Cosmo 21 also provides hair treatment and style & coloring.
Mayor Anesh became the first customer at Cosmo 21 when he surprised Revathy by asking for a shape up. The mayor did appear to look younger, but twenty-one years of age may have been pushing it.
“What a beautiful place, and Revathy gave me a great cut,” said Anesh. “I wish her and her family much success.”
Revathy has over ten years of experience in the beauty services industry and hopes to open additional spots in New York City and Philadelphia after she gets fully settled into the South Plainfield location. Her husband, son and daughter were with her for the opening.
