SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - A garden of fifty blue pinwheels spinning in unison in front of the South Plainfield Library reminds visitors that April is Prevent Child Abuse Month. This lovely array was planted by Suburban Woman’s Club members to support Prevent Child Abuse-NJ. PCA-NJ implements its “Pinwheel for Prevention” campaign during April and organizations throughout the Garden State are showing their support by planting pinwheel gardens.
Why the pinwheel? PCA-NJ chose the pinwheel because it is “whimsical and evokes childlike notions” so it is a good emblem of the ‘Great Childhood’ it desires for all children. Prevent Child Abuse-NJ promotes Great Childhoods, positive parenting and healthy child development. The organization envisions a world “where every child has a happy, healthy and safe childhood.”
