East Brunswick, Edison, Helmetta, Highland Park, Metuchen, South Plainfield, South River, NJ - Calling all young artists! Senator Patrick Diegnan, Assemblywoman Nancy Pinkin, and Assemblyman Robert Karabinchak are hosting their 2nd annual Youth Artwork Contest for the residents of the 18th Legislative District of New Jersey! Youth ages 6-20 can submit their artwork for the chance to receive a tour of the 18th Legislative District Office, where they will be able to see their artwork hanging on the walls. The contest will run from August 21 to September 18.

This opportunity encourages children and teenagers of the community to express their creativity, artistry, and sense of community through a variety of art mediums! All forms of media will be accepted as long as the artwork can easily be displayed in the office. All entries must relate to the artist’s respective age theme as follows: My Favorite Thing About New Jersey (ages 6-10), Reusing Unrecyclables (ages 11-15), and Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness (ages 16-20).

The 18th Legislative District Representatives released the following joint statement, “Over the past year, the 2018 submissions have decorated the halls of our office and demonstrated the amazing qualities of our community, whenever an esteemed guest comes to visit. We are excited to once again host our annual district wide youth artwork contest and are looking forward to all of the amazing pieces that will be submitted by the incredibly talented group of citizens we have the honor of calling our constituents.”

Nine of the submissions will be chosen for display, three from each category.
