SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Knights of Columbus, South Plainfield Council #6203 is sponsoring the Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest which is open to all Catholic students - in public, private and parochial schools grades 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 during the current year.  This year’s essay theme is, Discuss the meaning of Virtue and how you live and embody the virtue of Charity.   In the essay of 500-750 words, consider the meaning of virtue and think about ways in which you exemplify the virtue of Charity to glorify and reflect the nature of God. Essays must be submitted no later than December 17, 2019.   There will be a first-place prize of $50.00, second-place prize of $35.00 and a third-place prize of $20.00 for each grade.

Contest guidelines can be found below:

  • Essays must reflect the assigned theme and be the student’s original work.
  • Essays must be typed and be between 500 and 750 words in length.
  • The student’s name should appear only on the official Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest entry form, which must be stapled to the essay.
  • All entries become the property of the Knights of Columbus and will not be returned.
