The fifth annual spelling bee contest hosted by the South Plainfield Suburban Woman’s Organization in conjunction with the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs and partnered with the South Plainfield Cultural Arts Commission was held at the end January 2019.

The first-place winner was Sameer Vechalapu and received a $50.00 gift card. Second place winner was Jack Chapman and the third-place winner was Saanvi Kumar, both received a $25.00 gift card.  All three students will move on to the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Club College District Spelling Bee on February 23, 2019, with a snow date of February 24, 2019 at the headquarters in New Brunswick, which will begin at 10:30 am.

Gift cards were donated by the South Plainfield Suburban Woman’s Organization and the Cultural Arts Commission.  All participants received a certification which was designed by Suzanne Lepore, President of the Cultural Arts Commission.
