SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Petitions for those residents seeking to run for a seat on the South Plainfield Board of Education were due July 29 and, at the 4 p.m. deadline, five candidates had thrown their hat into the race.

This year, there are three open seats with the three incumbents – Deborah ‘Debbie’ Boyle, Tom Cassio, and Ernie ‘Jim’ Giannakis – all seeking re-election. Also running are Chere Glover and William Seesselberg, who both previously served on the board.

Board of education seats in South Plainfield are at-large and all terms are three years. Voting will take place during general election, which will take place Tuesday, Nov. 5. Profiles on each of the candidates featured in TAPinto South Plainfield over the weeks leading up to Election Day.
