SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and, on a local front, Jo-Ann’s Dance Studio – The Performing Arts Center will hold a fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 19 in honor of its founder with all proceeds benefiting the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute.

The Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser is being held in honor of Jo-Ann Faulkner, a breast cancer survivor and owner of the South Clinton Avenue studio. A variety of dance and fitness classes and workshops for children and adults will take place throughout the day, and there will be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, refreshments, and more with Sloan Kettering tripling all donations made. 

Dance classes scheduled throughout the day include kids hip hop, ‘Tappin’ for the Ta-Tas,’ Pound for Pink (kids and adults), Kicks, Leaps and Turns (KLT), and Zumba (kids and adults) with Vertical Freedom fitness classes including Kids Circus, Intro/Beginner Pole, Plyoga, and Mixed Level Pole also taking place.

The cost is $5 per person per class; $10 per person for Kids Circus. Pre-registration is recommended, not required and fees are payable in cash only.
