“In the past, our seniors have expressed some concerns in the event of a loss of power,” Olano said.  “They want to be sure to be prepared with flashlights as well as general staples like food and water.”

The Senior Center has been hard at work since March making sure seniors are safe with deliveries of food and drive-thru events.

“I want them to know we are here for our senior community for whatever they need,” Olano said.  “We have been at work every day since March 12, calling them, sending out baskets, meals, goodies, words of encouragement, drive-by events, our book mobile, setting up aqua classes and more.”

To register for the event, call the Senior Center at 908-754-1047 by September 10th.

“I’m a champion for making sure our seniors’ well-being,” Olano said.  “These past few months during COVID-19 have been very hard on the seniors.  They are lonely and prone to depression.  To stop all social activities has put a huge weight on our seniors.”
