South Plainfield– Today, Governor Murphy announced the closure of State and County Parks as the State reported an additional 3,361 new positive tests bringing the State’s total to 44,416. The Governor also indicated that NJ could see a peak surge in cases between April 19th and May 11th.
The Governor indicated an increase in the number of instances where social distancing was not practiced at parks, perhaps because individuals didn’t think it was as important because they are outside.
As a result, we will close all borough parks effective at dusk, today, April 7th. I thank you for your understanding as we continue to work to flatten the curve and protect all residents.
