SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The National Weather Service in Philadelphia has issued a High Wind Warning for Middlesex County New Jersey. The high wind warning is in effect from 6:00am to 7:00 pm edt Monday April 13th. According to the NWS sustained winds from the south at 25 to 35 mph and with gusts of 55 to 60 mph can be expected.
The severe weather may cause extensive damage with downed trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected and travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Thunderstorms are possible throughout the day which may result in even stronger wind gusts. Heavy rains are expected throughout the day.
