SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Holy Savior Academy’s cheerleading squad is on winning streak.  Competing at the Biddy Level in the CCCANJ League, the girls took 1st place in the first two competitions of this cheer season. The 12 girl squad competed in the Immaculate Conception and the St. Mary’s competitions and came out on top beating fellow Catholic Schools, Immaculate Conception, St Mary’s Middletown and St. Francis. Gabriella Parache and Meagan Gaffney were also both highlighted as the “Cheerleader of the Day” for their squad at each of the events. When asked about her team’s wins, Ava Trunell-Laputka said “I am so proud of our team and it feels great to win!”  The girls continue to work hard and look forward to success at their next competition scheduled for February 25, 2018 for St. James School in Woodbridge.

The Holy Savior Biddy Cheer Squad is coached by Karen Gaffney, Maralyn Thomas, Cindy Trunell and is made up of both Holy Savior Academy students and parishioners from Sacred Heart Church in Kindergarten – 4th grades.
