South Plainfield, N.J. – Over the past several weeks South Plainfield police have responded to numerous vehicle burglaries in the Geary Park area and a residential burglary on Field Avenue. 

 On September 15th, 2019, at approximately 4:25 am police responded to Field Avenue for the report of a residential burglary.  According to police, it appeared that the actor used a patio chair to enter the rear bedroom window of a Field Avenue residence.  From there the actor entered the kitchen taking the homeowners wallet and checkbook from the countertop and exited out of the rear door after hearing the homeowners’ barking German Shepherd.  Surveillance video shows the suspect as a black male with a backpack.         

On September 16th, 2019 South Plainfield Police arrest Darnell Davis, 47, of Plainfield N.J. after Davis was captured on Ring Doorbell attempting to break into a vehicle parked in the driveway of a Grant Avenue residence.

On September 16th, 2019 charges were filed by South Plainfield Police against Troy C. Threadgill, 56, of Plainfield N.J. for numerous vehicle and structure burglaries.  At this time Threadgill has not been brought to justice.  If you have information on Threadgill, contact Detective Chris Blath of the South Plainfield Police Department at (908)226-7664.

There are several open cases under investigation.  The South Plainfield Police is urging residents not to be easy targets and to lock their doors and windows.
