SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ -  Authorities are searching for a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery in South Plainfield last week and have released an image of the suspect.

On Thursday, September 13th, at around 1:25 p.m. a man described as a black male approximately 5’7” tall weighing 150 lbs entered the Wells Fargo Bank located at 2325 Plainfield Ave.  He was dressed in an all tan long sleeved outfit, wearing a grayish blue bucket hat, dark sunglasses, and a white dust mask. The suspect was also carrying a large container of insect spray.

"The man demanded money from the bank teller, who then turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the man before he left the bank," said Cassio.

South Police Department detectives, along with agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, are investigating the robbery.

Authorities have released surveillance footage of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Thomas Rutter at 908-7663 / or Detective Sergeant Garrett Cassio at 908-226-7662 of the South Plainfield Police Department.  Any and all information or tips will be kept confidential.
