SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – What does 8, 12 and 16 have in common? At the South Plainfield Parent’s Ponytail Association it was the age groups that captured last weekend’s softball tournaments. Three different age groups captured three different championship titles. Below are the highlights of last weekend’s action:

8u Wins the Colonia Cyclone Tournament

The 8u South Plainfield Tigers softball team played in the Colonia Cyclone Tournament this weekend.  The Tigers went 6-0 and beat Scotch Plains in the finals 12-8 to win the championship.

12u Win the South Plainfield Summer Slam Tournament

The 12u South Plainfield Tigers went 6-0 this weekend at their host tournament.  The Tigers blanked the Queens Bulldogs from New York 10-0 in the finals to win the championship.

Players for the 12u Tigers are the following:

Samantha Culver, Emma Hoppe, Lucy Chabrak, Emily Davis, Maddy Barry, Alyna Hosein, Izzy Barbara, Ava Cabrera, Maria Fuschetti, Daria Mazzarese, and Stella Sweeney.


16u Win Readington No Fear Challenge Tournament

The 16U South Plainfield Tigers went 5-0 this weekend in the Readington No Fear Challenge.  The Tigers beat the Carteret in the finals 13-1 to win the championship.
