SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The SPHS Winter Track Program had a busy winter break with two meets in six days.  The Tigers heated up the track as it got cold outside. In total the Tigers set two school records and grabbed 32 medals and one invitational championship.

On Saturday, December 21st, Junior Hailey Palmer looked to break her own 300 meter dash record at the Demarest Invitational.  Hailey had been looking forward to this chance since last season.  Hailey went out fast and eclipsed her time by a tenth of a second claiming a medal at the same time.  Meanwhile, Lauren Calvey battled her way to 6th in the High Jump competing against some of the best jumpers in New Jersey.

South Plainfield then traveled to the Merli Invitational on Friday, December 27th.  Here the Boys ruled the small school division winning by over 20 points.  The team was led by Bobby Rivera who claimed first in the 400 meter dash, 3rd in the 55 meter dash and led the 4 x 400 team to second with the help of Cody Adams, Jackson Dalton, and Brian Gallagher.  Other 1st place finishers for the boys included the Shuttle Hurdle Team of Justin Billich, Joshua Ng, Jeremy Burrell and Mike Lawrence.
