SPOTSWOOD, NJ - After the Spotswood High School boys varsity soccer team was shutout in their home opener, the Chargers bounced back with an overtime victory on Friday. Yanni Hatzistefanis scored the overtime winner to give the Chargers a 3-2 win over South Plainfield High School. The goal was the second of the game for Hatzistefanis. Chris Moran had one goal and an assist for Spotswood. Luke Tharney also had one assist in the game for the Chargers who took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

Rohan Castillo had a goal and an assist for South Plainfield while Adrian Dominguez had a goal. Bryan Cruz made 10 saves for South Plainfield. Spotswood's Andrew Bishara stopped eight shots to pick up his first win of the young season in goal. 

Spotswood takes on Woodbridge Academy on Tuesday at the Spotswood High School Varsity Soccer Field. Game time is 4 p.m.
