NEWTON, NJ- Town of Newton officials have announced aerial mosquito larviciding will continue through August 3 between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m.  The Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Mosquito Control is conducting the application by plane.

Officials note it is not a liquid or aerosol spray, nor is it directed at adult mosquitoes.  It is to reduce future adult mosquito populations.   

It will affect uninhabited and wetland areas in Vernon, Wantage, Hardyston, Sussex, Hopatcong, Newton, Hampton Lafayette.
