SPARTA, NJ – A Sparta resident donated money to Regional Cancer Center Associates to improve patient care for local cancer patients.  Melissa Eaton raised $15,000 for RCCA in the All Cancer Sucks 5k Run held in August. 

Eaton organized the event after her aunt Karen Gormley passed away suddenly in Florida from cancer.  Eaton wished to help with the fight against cancer.  The All Cancer Sucks initiate was the first event she ever organized.

“We were blown away,” Dr. May Abdo-Matkiwsky said.  The funds will be used for anything pertaining to the patient such as assistance with medication, transportation or programs, Abdo-Matkiwsky explained.
