SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School boys soccer has another game in the win column having beaten Morris Hills 4-1. The Spartans hosted the Scarlet Knights on Monday afternoon. It was a physical game with a number of penalties and cards doled out in the second half.
The game was even at 1-1 at halftime. Sparta came out and quickly put one in the net. Shortly after that the third Spartan goal came on a penalty kick. Minutes later a fourth goal would seal the win.
It was a team effort with four different Spartans scoring and two others getting credit for the assist. Gianluca Bivona, Eric DaSilva, Danny DiMarco and Chris Murray all got one past the Morris Hills goal keeper.
Murray, Devin Level and Vaughn Thomas all contributed with an assist.
Sparta’s keeper Alban Ukaj stopped five Scarlet Knights’ shots on goal.
The boys’ record now stands at 4-0, moving them to second place in their NJAC American Conference. They will travel to Newton on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. start.
