SPARTA, NJ - Sparta High School hosted its annual Art Gala on Wednesday night. The school’s media center was transformed into a gallery, with easels and tables displaying the work of art students of all levels – from Introduction and Intermediate, to Advanced and AP.

Photography, sculptures, drawings and paintings were admired by students and their parents. Refreshments were served; a variety of cookies baked by the students. Musicians, including strings students and alumni flute players, created a casual atmosphere with a light-hearted tunes.

A fundraiser led by teacher Christine Mase, was also taking place. Mase encouraged students to donate their artwork to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, an organization working to stop childhood cancer. The fundraiser, says Mase, “is not only a wonderful way to share your artistic talent, but to help a worthy cause.”
