WOODBRIDGE, NJ - Sure stockings and Santa hats are tell-tale signs of the impending holiday season, but so are model trains. Whether it's running around the bottom of a tree or a part of a traditional display, the appearance of model trains signal holiday fun.

The Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge will open its 25th annual Holiday Model Train Show on Saturday, November 28. It will be open to the public through Sunday, December 27 though it will be closed on December 25.

Mike Gelesky is the man behind the set up and design of the model train display, which always draws lots of spectators. Gelesky's display has a definite Jersey flavor. It includes a replica of downtown Woodbridge, a Jersey Shore scene complete with sand and working amusement rides, a NJ Transit Train Station as well as an indoor/outdoor ice hockey rink with a working zamboni.

Kids of all ages can participate in a scavenger hunt, which challenges them to find items that are tucked into the display such as Sponge Bob or a skiing Santa. Children and adults can press the interactive buttons along the sides of the exhibit that makes different things happen within the set up.

The Barron Arts Center is located at 582 Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and  on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. The train exhibit is free though the Barron Arts Center does welcome donations.

The exhibit is also available for school or group viewing. Interested parties can call 732-634-0413 for more information on group tours.

Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac will host a special opening ceremony for the annual train exhibit on Friday, December 4 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
