LAFAYETTE, NJ - As the school year kicks-off into full gear, many local students begin to feel the stress and pressure of deciding on their next steps in life: college. Pass It Along is pleased to partner with Jessie Peck Martin, M. Ed., of CompassU Educational Consulting, based in Branchville, New Jersey.
On November 12, 2019 at 7:30p.m., Martin will be hosting a Facebook Live Event, titled Better Admits, More Merit, Less Stress - An Admission’s Chat to Benefit Pass It Along. During the event, Martin will be developing trends in admissions, with hopes to create better outcomes for local teenagers. Throughout the 30 minutes of the live event, Martin will cover five common trends within the modern admission process, as well as allow participants to ask any questions they may have about the college application process.
For every participant that registers and views the live event, Martin will be donating $10.00 towards Pass It Along’s Service Corps group, which will be matched by an anonymous benefactor. All funds raised will go towards two upcoming Service Corps projects, one being Pass It Along’s Annual Family Volunteer Day on November 23, 2019, and the other being Family Promise’s Christmas Event, where teens will hand out stockings to local kids and families in need.
Service Corps the highest level and most intense leadership program within Pass It Along. Members show a history of leadership and volunteerism in their community. Once in, they take on bigger projects, help plan annual events, get specialized leadership training and much more.
“Service Corps is comprised of dedicated teens that know how to show up for each other, as well as others within their community,” says Martin, “Helping them spread light and hope to the local community while providing much-needed information to families seems like the least I can do.”
Martin earned a bachelor of science in marketing, and a master’s degree in education from Lehigh University. In 2014, Martin founded CompassU Educational Consulting, bringing forth and sharing 25 years of experience in both classrooms and educational publishing to local teenagers and their families.
According to Martin, “My practice is all about helping families manage a complex and overwhelming process to create better outcomes and reduce stress around the kitchen table.”
To register for the live event, please visit the CompassU Facebook page, and click the link to the event page to RSVP. Once there, those who wish to participate can leave any questions they may have. On November 12, those who register can log-on to Facebook and join the live stream.
