SPARTA, NJ – Sparta Police Department was filled with tigers and bears on Wednesday as the scouts from Franklin Cub Scout Pack 90 were given a tour.  Bear Den Leaser Ashley Phillips worked with Lt. John Lamon to help the scouts complete requirements for earning their rank, Phillips said.

More than 30 scouts, 15  parents and some siblings crowded into the building to get a look behind the scenes at the headquarters. They saw the dispatch center and  the holding cells.

“The scouts were very interested in police operations and asked a million questions,” Lamon said. “It was a fun and educational tour for all involved.”

The scouts all received certificates to take home as a souvenir of their time in Sparta.
