SPARTA, NJ -  A passenger in a car parked in the Sparta Police Department lot is facing drug charges.  As Sparta Cpl. Frank Schomp was walking through the lot on August 17 around noon, to go to his personal car he smelled burnt marijuana coming from the open window of the car, police report.

Schomp got Sparta Police Officers Finley and Guido to check on Nicole Walker of Newark.  She was waiting in the car while the driver went into town hall, according to police.

Walker, 31, was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  She was given a court date and released.
