SPARTA, NJ – On June 19, at approximately 12:15 p.m. police received a complaint about an erratic driver; a dump truck was unable to maintain the lane of travel on Route 15 northbound.

Cpl. Dave Pridham located and stopped the vehicle after observing it cross the fog line and cross the rumble strips.  The driver, 29-year-old Christopher Cruz from Bound Brook, appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic.

A small zip lock package containing a synthetic cannabinoid was observed and retrieved from the cab of the truck.  Cruz was tested by a Drug Recognition Expert and it was determined he was not under the influence of a narcotic at that time.
